Kerry and fellow democrats can't seem to make up their mind about what lie to lambaste the president with. The fib de jour is the employment situation. Anyone with any sense can look up the facts.
Kerry, who has a commanding lead in the race to oppose Bush this fall, chided the president for taking time out Sunday to attend the Daytona 500, saying the country was bleeding jobs while he posed for a "photo opportunity." Bush had donned a racing jacket to officially open NASCAR's most prestigious event in front of some 180,000 fans.
Bleeding jobs? For anyone that cares to look at the real numbers, the Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes them online for the world to see. Even John F-bomb Kerry could take a peek if he wasn't quite so busy lying about it:
Kerry and cohorts would have you believe that this country has lost millions of jobs since G.W. stepped into the Oval Office, but the facts paint a very different picture.
The fact is that there are nearly 5 million more jobs now than when Bush first tipped his Stetson in the White House. In fact, this country is employing more people than at any point in its history... including the roaring Clinton years.
That's pretty amazing, especially if you consider the fact that the Clinton administration was guilty of cooking the economic books by nearly 30% at times while he was in office.
So, here we have Kerry taking a photo-op while criticizing the president for doing the same. It's clear that Kerry is simply compensating. Let's face it, his photo-op just isn't as big as Bush's.
