I got in a small fender bender on the way home from work yesterday in the Honda. In the dual left turn lanes from Southwest Fwy 59 to Crabb River Rd (near where we live), the inside lane has to make a very sharp corner due all the to construction... well, he didn't.
I was in the outside lane. As I was just coming out of my turn, it appeared the driver in the inside lane was trying to go straight (he at least wasn't at the angle he needed to be to make his turn) and hit me just behind the rear driver side tire.
I think he hit me with his driver side front-corner bumper, but it didn't do much damage to his car (a BMW 940I to make up for the Lexus that Chantell dinged a while back in the Sequoia).
No one stopped to "witness," so it's my word against his. He claims I cut the corner short, but I claim he didn't cut his corner at all. How else do you explain how the cars collided?
It was a low speed deal (10-15mph?) because we were stopped at the light and had some traffic in front of us as well. Neither of us were hurt so that's good. I simply think the other driver wasn't familiar with the intersection... which is understandable. It's confusing, has no markings, and changes configuration every few weeks. We'll have to see how it turns out insurance-wise.
Updated to add: Curiously, this extremely boring narrative of my fender bender has vaulted The Price Family Home Companion to the second highest ranked site on Google for the search phrase "bmw 940i".
